A local {transgender, bisexual, lesbian and} gay-rights organization is raising money to donate to three groups this holiday season.
The deadline to donate to San Diego Pride’s first “Milk Money” drive is Dec. 15.
The money raised will support delivery of meals through Mama’s Kitchen to people living with cancer or AIDS; provide funding to the Trevor Project’s national suicide prevention hot line for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youths; and be donated to the Imperial Court de San Diego’s Toys for Kids’ program.
The drive is named after the late gay rights leader Harvey Milk.
Contributions can be made online at MilkMoney.Kintera.org, or checks may be sent to San Diego Pride, P.O. Box 34366, San Diego, CA 92163.
For more information, call the Pride office at (619) 297-7683, or visit the Web site: SanDiegoPride.org.
San Diego Pride, which organizes an annual parade and festival, has donated nearly $100,000 to various organizations so far this year.
